In 1985, the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Metropolitan Detroit was named in honor of Meyer L. Prentis, a Detroit philanthropist. Prentis Comprehensive Cancer Center of Metropolitan Detroit, The Detroit Medical Center, and Wayne State University. C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital is named for Flint auto pioneer and philanthropist Charles Stewart Mott who donated $6.5 million to help open its first children’s hospital.
