The USDA and University of CA announced plans to create the Plant Gene Expression Center
In 1984, the USDA and the University of CA announce plans to create the Plant Gene Expression Center, a research center that will answer basic questions about the control of gene expression in plants. Today, The Center is located in Albany. The mission of the Center is to improve plant germplasm through increased knowledge of gene function during plant growth and development and in response to the environment.
